Dario Gambarin pays homage to Dante, a 25,000 square meter portrait

A maxi-work of Land Art to celebrate the 700s from the death of Dante Alighieri. This has more than 25,000 square meters and was built on agricultural land in Castagnaro, Verona, by the artist Dario Gambarin. It is the largest portrait of the great poet in the world.

The maxi-portrait was made with a tractor and a rotary harrow directly in the field. Without preparatory drawing, like all Gambarinís other works. The artist, born in Verona on 6 August 1958, is a lonely painter who, instead of using a canvas for his paintings, uses wheat fields. His brush is a twin share mounted on a 150 hp tractor.
